To ensure that we create a fairer and more sustainable future for our town, and the country as a whole, we need to ‘build back better’; but what does that mean? That’s where we need your help, because we want you to have your say.
Build Back Better for Nailsworth
Nailsworth Town Council (NTC) has declared a climate emergency. Working with NTC, NailsworthCAN has contributed to some ideas for improvements in the town, such as creating a healthier environment, and in coming months, we want to reach out to gather more feedback and ideas. Under Practical Tips we offer some immediate steps people can take, and under Projects we highlight some of the ideas gathered so far for the medium to longer term.
We’ve been thinking about how we can keep hold of these positives and build on them for a better future for our town, along with the bigger changes needed to address the climate emergency. We think that we should all have a chance to say what the new normal ought to be. Therefore, over the coming months we want to get your views on what will help us Build Back Better for a safer, greener, more sustainable way of life. We will be asking you about the following topics:
🌍 How can we get about in ways that keep us active and cause less air pollution?
🌍 How can we protect wildlife, trees and our environment?
🌍 How can we feed ourselves using local food production and agriculture?
🌍 How can we make less waste?
🌍 How can we find the most suitable and sustainable sources of energy for our area?
🌍 How can we insulate our homes and businesses so they are warmer and need less heating?
Share your ideas with us
If you have any solutions to the questions above, we would love to hear them.
Share your vision for the future of Nailsworth
NailsworthCAN are conducting a series of six surveys around six themes over the next six months; the first of which, in July, is Mobility & Transport. NailsworthCAN and NTC have conducted workshops to gather suggestions on possible ideas for action on the climate emergency. Now is a chance for you to have your say and chip in ideas of your own. The aim is to incorporate the feedback into a consolidated plan of action at the end of the year.
